However, the actress, recently uploaded an Instagram photo and admitted in the caption that she suffers from bipolar disorder, and even attempted suicide twice during her teen years.
Janna, whose real name is Nurul Jannah Muner said that she was clinically diagnosed with bipolar disorder and took a few days off from social media to focus on herself.
She also added that she was undergoing psychiatric treatment, and taking medication prescribed by her doctor.
In the caption, she said: “All this while I thought my brain worked normally, same as everyone else. I thought everyone had three to four voices in their heads, and those inner voices would talk to each other like a group discussion.
“Until I started taking my medication I realized that it was not normal. I thought to myself: Oh, so this is how normal people think inside their heads.”
She also admitted that she thought of dying when she was only 8-years-old and tried to take her own life by swallowing a handful of panadol, mixed with some other medicines that she could find at that time.
And when she was 15, she tried taking her own life again by cutting her own wrist in front of her younger sister.
“My family is not perfect. I stayed in a boarding school, and every weekend when my friends’ parents visited them, I could only watch from my bedroom window,” she added.
Many of her celebrity friends sympathised and showed support in the comment sections like actor Nazim Othman, actress Zahirah Macwilson and Diana Danielle, singer Andi Bernadee and celebrity chef, Chef Zam.
If you ever feel hopeless or alone as well, remember that you are not alone and that getting help is the bravest move you can make.
