Kuan Chee Heng, a social activist, has announced his intention to run as an independent candidate for the federal seat of Puchong in the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15).
Kuan, also fondly known as "Uncle Kentang," made the announcement via his Facebook page.

"I am providing a different voice for the people of Puchong. I humbly submit my candidacy as an independent candidate in P103 Puchong. Allow the people of Puchong to have a real voice.
“A voice capable of truly representing all of you,” he said in his post.
Kuan also listed his credentials in the posting, including his experience as the head of a Parent Teachers Association for over 14 years and thus understanding the current societal need.
"I am not a politician, but an ordinary rakyat who understands when Mak Cik Kiah does not have enough money to pay for her children's bus fare, when Mak Cik Kiah does not have enough money to pay for her utilities, when Mak Cik Kiah needs an ambulance, when Mak Cik Kiah needs a hospital bed," he added.

He ended his post by convincing the people to vote for a candidate who will always be there for the rakyat.
