Malaysians are furious at supporters of Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, after thousands had gathered in front of the KL High Court courthouse yesterday, to show their support as the former Prime Minister heard his verdict on his first case related to the 1MDB financial scandal.
Of course, concerns arose from the public after those who gathered paid no attention to the government’s COVID-19 SOPs that were put in place amid the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).
Countless pictures and videos went viral on social media, showing serious lack of social distancing among supporters, with many of them not even wearing a face mask.
This led to talks about a new COVID-19 cluster emerging, dubbed the “Courthouse Cluster”.

Even Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah gave his two cents, saying how disappointed he was, especially after personally reminding Malaysians every single day to practice social distancing and good personal hygiene, during his daily COVID-19 briefings throughout the MCO.
It’s believed that over 1,000 people turned up, with most of them completely ignoring authorities who were trying to ensure the crowds adhered to COVID-19 guidelines.
Here’s what some Malaysians had to say...
We just want to remind everyone to continue to follow all SOPs that have been set, and don't let your guard down!
