Despite COVID-19 concerns, over 1,000 of his supporters gathered outside the heavily-guarded court complex to hear the decision.

Police made an announcement to disperse the crowd of supporters waiting outside the court after concerns over the lack of social distancing practices were raised.

They reminded the supporters that rules under the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) still apply, and to maintain social distancing.

This is the country’s first criminal trial involving a former PM.
