In the video, Loh is seen guiding his visually-impaired friend by holding on to her walking stick. He stated that is the incorrect way to lead someone who is visually-impaired and there is a better way to do it.

“Please don’t do this when guiding a blind person to walk,” his caption reads.

The correct way to lead a blind or visually-impaired person is to let them hold onto your shoulder with their hand, while their other hand is still holding their cane, and you need to walk in front of them as well.

He also explained that using words to guide a visually-impaired person like saying “go straight, wait, turn” is also not the right way to help them, and will actually confuse them!

Loh also urged Malaysians to not stand or put anything that could obstruct the yellow tactile paving on the sidewalk as it plays an important role for those who are visually impaired, legally blind or have low vision to feel the path in front of them.

The video has since garnered over 1.2 million views at the time of writing.
