The implementation of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) has resulted in the closure of schools nationwide with all classes now moved online.
But as classes move online, what happens to students without internet or computers?
Recently, a science teacher in Sarawak decided to bring the children in his longhouse on a three-hour hike to a higher spot where the internet connection is more stable just so that they can keep up with their studies.
Now, a teacher from SMK Kijal, Kemaman, Terengganu went the extra mile to deliver study modules to her Form 5 students who will be sitting for their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) exam.

The Bahasa Melayu teacher, Cikgu Noor Aniza Che Soh said that she has been teaching for 15 years and was prompted to deliver the modules to her students after some of them faced difficulties in attending her online class via Google Meet.
She told the Malay Mail: “While I was conducting my online classes, I found that there were some students who kept on leaving and rejoining the class. After asking them, I found out that they’re having internet connectivity issues and it is a recurring problem in their housing areas.”
Aniza added that there are also students who couldn’t attend her classes due to insufficient internet data.
“There are also students who couldn’t fully understand the lessons because they’re using a smartphone with a small screen.”
A viral Facebook post shared by Wan Ridhuan Muhammad showed pictures of Cikgu Aniza personally handing out the modules to her students at their home.

The caption reads: “This teacher is very worried for her children. She thinks about them every day, ‘How do they study at home?’ and she’s worried that they are unable to study for SPM. She’s worried that the schools won’t be opening anytime soon and that the students will be left behind.”
Aniza, who stays in Kampung Mak Chili in Kemaman, with the help of her husband, decided to print the modules and deliver them to all 38 of her students who are living as far as 21 kilometres away from her home.

She admitted that online classes don’t have the same impact as face-to-face teaching and that online classes are not sufficient for students due to the limited time they get to spend with their teachers.
