The implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) has caused our rivers and forests to strive and animals were free to roam and explore the streets and beaches due to the lack of human activities.
Turtles were found nesting at a beach in Negeri Sembilan again, and a herd of elephants were spotted exploring the streets of Terengganu.
Not even a few days since the Conditional MCO (CMCO) was replaced with the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO), the chain of good news is coming into an end when a few photos emerged on social media showing Port Dickson’s once clean beach, now littered with trash.
In a Facebook post published by user Negeri Sembilan Kini said that Malaysians are the cause of pollution in these tourist spots. “During the first two phases of the MCO and the CMCO, the beach was clean, beautiful and fresh. But as soon as the RMCO was implemented and people were allowed to go to the beach, this is the result.”

The post claimed that the photos were taken three days after the RMCO was implemented. The photos showed plastic waste scattered all over the beach shoreline.
Port Dickson Municipal Council president Mohd Zamri Mohd Esa said they have been receiving complaints about rubbish being thrown on the beach due to the increase in crowds, as reported by the New Straits Times.
Zamri said, “We will find a way to prevent people from littering the beaches, besides stepping up enforcement and imposing fines. We will consider setting up closed-circuit television cameras.”
This is not looking pretty, guys. You can enjoy yourself on the beach during this RMCO period, but make sure to clean up after yourself!
