PDRM Will Be Visiting Houses To Track Those Who Balik Kampung Without Police Permission

Knock knock, it’s PDRM!

Don’t be surprised if your home is visited by the police or the Armed Forces who will be monitoring the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

It seems like many Malaysians are taking the relaxation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) lightly and even tried to curi-curi balik kampung to celebrate Hari Raya with their families yesterday (17 May).

...and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is not having any of it!

According to The Star, the issue is being taken seriously by PDRM and Inspector-General, Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador said they will be tracking down those who made unauthorised interstate trips to celebrate Hari Raya at their kampungs.

“Beside roadblocks, PDRM will be checking housing areas and villages nationwide to track down those who have disregarded the conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) by travelling across states to balik kampung,” he said.

The police will also be checking vehicles to see if the drivers have the permits to travel interstate.

Those who are caught travelling without permission from PDRM would be investigated under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 and Police Act 1967.

Since some people are not taking the CMCO seriously, the authorities are forced to take these measures to make sure that everyone is safe at home!

If we want this to be over soon, we have to do this together, guys! Please stay at home and abide by the MCO, for now.
