The woman, who works in a customer service role, shared her story of an encounter with a difficult customer who questioned her ability to understand basic English.

The customer had requested to fill up points on his loyalty card, but the woman explained that he needed to swipe or scan the card before filling up his gas in order to receive the points. The customer was unhappy with this response and insisted that he could get the points back in a different location.

The woman politely explained that the procedure for obtaining points was the same regardless of location, but the customer continued to question her understanding of English, asking, "Can you understand simple English?"

In her TikTok video, the woman expressed her frustration and hurt at being spoken to in a condescending and disrespectful manner. She emphasized that she was simply following protocol and that there was no reason for the customer to treat her with such disrespect.

This story serves as a reminder that everyone, regardless of their profession or background, deserves to be treated with kindness and respect. Those who work in customer service roles provide valuable services to our communities and should be appreciated for their hard work and dedication.

In response to the woman's TikTok video, many Malaysians showed their support and solidarity. They left comments of encouragement, with some sharing their own stories of encountering difficult customers in their own professions.

Many also praised the woman for her professionalism and composure in dealing with the difficult customer.

Let's remember to treat others as we would want to be treated, with dignity and respect.
