Scamception! M’sian “Scams” Scammer By Transferring RM0.05 Into Their Bank Account

Ahmad, a teacher in Slim River, Perak, was recently approached on Telegram by a friend who needed help and asked to borrow RM1,000 from him.

However, Ahmad quickly realized that his friend’s phone had been compromised and the person he was speaking to was not his friend, but actually a scammer. He then decided to deal with the situation himself by scamming the scammer.

So he did exactly what the scammer asked, went to the bank and transferred money to him, and even provided a picture of the receipt as proof.

On the receipt, it shows that Ahmad had transferred RM0.05, which enraged the scammer, ultimately ending the chat.

He told Harian Metro: “If I hadn’t been careful, I would’ve just transferred the money to an account that could have been a mule account.”

Ahmad added that his colleague had also gotten the same message from the same “friend” requesting money to be transferred into a different bank account.

That’s a close call! And a very brilliant move on Ahmad’s part!

Guys, please be careful! If you’re ever in this exact situation and you feel like something’s not right, DO call your friend and make sure!
