The video captures the heartfelt moment when Mak Cik Midah, a retiree who served as a cleaner at the school, was showered with an array of gifts and cards.
The video, initially posted by @symazani on TikTok, the daughter of Mak Cik Midah, has resonated widely, amassing over 408,200 views and more than 23,300 likes.
She then also followed up with two additional videos, offering a closer look at the gifts and cards presented to her mother. The first video unveils a living room adorned with numerous bags filled with thoughtful gifts from both students and teachers.
The abundance of gifts, accompanied by handwritten cards adorned with creative drawings, reflects the deep affection and appreciation the students and teachers hold for the retired 'Makcik Cleaner.'
The evident outpouring of love is further emphasised by the fact that the school organised a farewell event in honour of Mak Cik Midah's retirement.
In another video, she shows several meticulously crafted cards by the students, highlighting their artistic expressions of gratitude.
There was also an 'unboxing' session, unveiling the many gifts that Mak Cik Midah had received. The surprises include a ring, cash, handbags, and a particularly imaginative gift – a replica of a wooden Kampung house.
