KL police are looking for a man seen assaulting a woman in a viral video, in an incident believed to have occurred in Ampang recently.

The one-and-a-half minute video shows the woman repeatedly being kicked and slapped by the man in front of a restaurant in Pandan Jaya.

We’re not exactly sure what the whole fiasco was all about, but the man was heard warning the woman against using his name around town.

Ampang Jaya deputy police chief Superintendent Mohd Azam Ismail told Bernama no official report was lodged, but the search for the man was launched after the video went viral on social media.

“So far, no witnesses have turned at the police station to give a statement. The suspect and the victim are believed to have family ties,” he said.

The case is being investigated under the Penal Code for intentionally causing injury, as well as the Domestic Violence Act, and the Communications and Multimedia Act for verbal abuse.

We hope the suspect is brought to justice!
