Mike shared that a fan approached him after the show, asking for an autograph. Expecting the usual memorabilia like a poster, album, or T-shirt, Mike was caught off guard when the fan presented something completely unexpected—a baby.
“He handed me the Sharpie,” Mike explained, mimicking the gesture of being handed a baby. At that point, he realised there was no turning back.
“He didn’t want me to sign a piece of clothing. He wanted me to sign the baby,” Mike said, laughing as he recalled the surreal moment.
The fan even pointed to the baby’s forehead, insisting, “Right here!” Despite his hesitation, Mike obliged. Reflecting on the incident, he joked that he was “60% convinced” it was indeed the forehead he signed, while the interviewer quipped that it was probably the safest spot, given that “everywhere else is soft.”
When asked if he’d ever followed up with the baby, Mike chuckled, imagining the now-grown child stepping forward one day to declare, “It was me! I got my forehead signed!”
Fans were quick to react, speculating about the timeline of the incident. While some believed the encounter might have happened during Linkin Park’s 2006 concert in Malaysia, a closer look reveals the band performed in the country twice—once in 2003 and again in 2013.
Comments on the interview ranged from curiosity about the child’s identity to lighthearted jokes. Some fans even suggested that Mike should make a return visit to Malaysia, with one jokingly adding, “Mike, come back and sign my baby!”
The quirky story has only added to Mike Shinoda’s charm, leaving fans amused and intrigued about the mystery of the Malaysian baby with the unforgettable autograph.
