Also known as the paiche or the pirarucu, the arapaima is one of the world’s largest freshwater fish and can grow to be 4.6 meters long and weigh up to 200 kilograms.
So, imagine catching one of those giants! Incredible!

Recently, a young man caught a 1.9 meters arapaima in a lake in Klang, Selangor.
Photos of the fish, which is, mind you, was as long as the person who caught it has since gone viral online. There was also a video of the man struggling to reel in his enormous catch.
Netizens took to the comment section expressing their surprise, “I’ve never seen a fish that big!”
“This is actually a small one. There are actually bigger ones,” the man said, responding to the comment.
