Malaysian Teacher Melts Hearts by Pushing Student in Wheelchair, Making Sure He Feels Included

For many children, school is more than just books and lessons—it’s a place where friendships blossom and memories are made through shared experiences and school activities. But for young Adam, a disabled student, school often meant sitting on the sidelines, watching longingly as his friends did the things he could only dream of.

However, this year’s school cross-country run turned out to be different, thanks to a remarkable teacher with an even more remarkable heart.

In a now-viral video, Adam’s mother, Adeela Syakila, shared the unforgettable moment when Teacher Fairus decided that this time, Adam would not be left behind. Without hesitation, the dedicated teacher volunteered to push Adam’s wheelchair throughout the entire cross-country run, ensuring that he experienced the joy of participating, not just spectating.

“It’s the day Adam had waited his whole life for,” Adeela expressed in the video’s caption, her emotions pouring through each word. “His first experience. He had never joined any sports events and could only watch his friends from the sideline. Thank you, Teacher Fairus, for your sacrifice to give Adam a chance.”

The heartwarming event took place in Padang Terap, Kedah, and the video has since captured the hearts of thousands, garnering over 300,000 views on TikTok.

Netizens flooded the comments with love and gratitude for Teacher Fairus’ incredible gesture. Many praised his kindness, with one commenter even recalling him as a senior at SMK Dato' Ahmad Maher in Kelantan, describing him as always thoughtful and gentle towards his juniors.

“May the traffic lights always be green for him, his wallet filled with RM50 notes, always find shady parking spots, be loved by all, and may all his tasks be made easy,” wrote a well-wisher, their heartfelt blessings echoing the collective sentiment of those who watched the video.

Teacher Fairus' act of kindness is a beautiful reminder that true educators do more than teach—they inspire, uplift, and make room for every child to shine. And on that special day, with every push of the wheelchair, he gave Adam not only the experience of a race but also the joy of belonging.
