Malaysian Hiker Wraps Himself Like ‘Hantu Pocong’ While Sleeping To Scare Away Noisy Campers

Camping is fun, but also tiring… so at the end of the day, you’d want to get a goodnight’s sleep.

However, if you’ve ever gone camping, you’ll know that being able to sleep peacefully is quite hard especially if you’re in a location that is specifically designated as a campground, because you’ll have to deal with noisy neighbours.

To ensure that he gets a good night’s sleep, one Malaysian hiker decided to try a unique trick to scare away the “noisy campers”.

A series of photos posted in the Hiking And Camping Around Malaysia Facebook group, Facebook user Jiwakacau Yut shared interesting ways he gets undisturbed sleep while camping, which is by wrapping himself in his sleeping bag like ‘hantu pocong’

His caption reads: “If you’re camping and don’t want your next door neighbour to make a lot of noise until late at night, here’s a tip to get them to leave the area immediately.”

He also added that this “technique” is effective in stopping fellow campers from stealing his personal belongings while he’s asleep.

In case you didn’t know, hantu pocong or also known as shroud ghost, is a ghost of Indonesian origin and is said to be the soul of a dead person trapped in their shroud. And if the ties over the shroud are not released after 40 days, the body is said to jump out from the grave to warn people that the soul needs to be released.

Pretty scary, huh?

jika berkemping xnak jiran sebelah buat bising hingga lewat malam ni je tips nya ada yang balik awal dan malam tu cabut...

But okay lah, at least this version of ‘hantu pocong’ is more colourful than the actual one... so it’s a bit less scary in our opinion!

What do you guys think of this? Brilliant or just mean?
