Although things are very slowly getting back to normal, with the bazaars allowed to open and more businesses allowed to operate, some people are still struggling to make ends meet, an after-effect of the pandemic.

But recently, a food delivery rider’s day was made when he got a motorcycle as a gift from Bukit Mertajam MP, Steven Sim Chee Keong.

Steven Sim gifted the man after finding out that he’s been using a borrowed bicycle to deliver food to customers.

The MP took to Facebook to share that Mohamad, the delivery rider, earns about RM500 a month from his day job and works part-time as a delivery rider.

He added that the 22-year-old had travelled from Kelantan to Penang in search of a better life.

We are really proud of Mohamad that he decided to take charge of his life and do what he can to support himself and his family instead of lamenting about his misfortune.

We hope he gets to earn extra income with much ease now that he’s got a motorcycle!
