Pos Malaysia Berhad (Pos Malaysia) confirms that the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has arrested a suspect in relation to a donation scam linked to the incident on Facebook.

The online outcry was sparked by a social media post from Masakan Utara Barat on Facebook showing a Pos Malaysia delivery rider crying on the steps of a home after delivering a parcel.

Pos Malaysia in a statement said: “We applaud the swift action by PDRM in bringing the scammer to justice and putting a stop to the further exploitation of the kindness of Malaysians.”

The public must be cautious of such schemes and avoid postings that are defamatory in nature.

Pos Malaysia clarifies that they are committed to the welfare of its employees, despite facing challenges during this pandemic. They continue to protect the livelihood of over 15,000 frontliners and operational support employees and ensure that their needs are prioritised.
