A post recently went viral after a man from Raub, Pahang shared a photo of his water bill which amounted to RM144,623!
In the photo, it shows that the man had used 99,740m3 of water between May 16th and June 6th this year, which according to a calculation done by Sin Chew Daily, could fill up over 50 standard-size swimming pools.
His previous water bill only amounted to RM71.

“Look at the numbers. Can I file for bankruptcy,” his caption reads.
The man, however, did not clarify why he received such a high water bill in his Facebook post, nor did he say whether he had contacted the Pengurusan Air Pahang Berhad (PAIP) about it, but netizens assumed that it was just a miscalculation on PAIP’s part.
One person commented that their small family only uses around RM20 of water a month, which is around RM240 a year, “It would take 600 years to use RM144,000 worth of water. You drained 600 years of water in one month, I’m impressed.”
Many also joked that the man was the reason why some areas have been having water problems, “No wonder there’s no water. All the water has been taken to your house.”
This is so funny!
We hope that the man resolved the issue with PAIP so that he won’t have to file for bankruptcy!
