These past few days, Dr. Noor Hisham has received praises and recognition not only for his outstanding work as the Health Director-General, but also for his humility for thanking all the heroes in the Ministry For Health after earning the title as one of the “top doctors” in the world by China’s press.
Today, he has outdone himself yet again, for taking time out of his busy schedule to thank this little girl for sending him a gift.
Dr Noor Hisham received a letter from Lara Khadijah, a primary school student from Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Budiman in Kuala Terengganu.

In the letter, Lara told Dr. Nor Hisham that she makes bracelets to give to her friends as a sign of friendship. So, she decided to make one for Dr. Noor Hisham to thank him for all the hard work he has done to help the people of Malaysia. She also reminded him to stay safe and healthy while doing his duties.
Lara attached the striking blue bracelet and even signed off as “your friend, Lara”
Dr. Noor Hisham replied to the letter by first thanking Lara for the lovely bracelet and told her that his granddaughter is now wearing it.

He then told Lara the same thing he told all Malaysians- that we are all in this together.
“Your words are too kind but I am not doing it alone. I am lucky to have a great team with me to help our country. Fellow Malaysians like yourself, have been a wonderful help by playing your part by staying at home. Please continue to do so, and together we can fight the virus,” he said in the letter.
Dr Nor Hisham also reassured Lara to not be worried and that all of this will be over soon.
He ended the letter by advising Lara to study hard and keep her grades up as she will soon be serving the country as he is currently doing when she grows up.
He even signed off as " From your new friend, Dr. Hisham".
Lara’s letter was shared by her big brother, Iman, who posted pictures of both letters on his Twitter account. He wrote in his tweet that he received a picture of Dr. Nor Hisham via Whatsapp and that Dr. Noor Hisham is very humble and that he respects him a lot.
Dr. Noor Hisham even liked his tweet!
Iman’s tweet has gone viral with more than 4K retweets just after an hour of it being posted. Praises for Dr. Noor Hisham flooded the replies.
We are truly lucky to have such a humble and caring leader serving our country!
