Not only did this Indian couple make it into the Book of Records for the longest ribbon attached to a gown, but they also opted for a Malay-themed wedding complete with kebaya and songket, songs played during the ceremony and choice of dishes served!

The couple, Remaathi Palani and Thanaseelan Lechumanan decided to change things up and make their wedding unforgettable not only for them, but also for their friends and family.
According to MStar, preparations were made to make sure the authenticity of the theme.
“We have planned this wedding for a year, and we wanted it to be an unforgettable experience said Reemathi.
Reemathi who hails from Penang and grew up in a Malay community, went to a local school with most of her friends being Malay, and even her friends at her workplace are Malays too.
Facebook page, Penang Kini shared the couple’s wedding photos with the caption: “What a great couple to have had a Malay-themed ceremony, Malay dished and decked out in the songket attire. Congratulations on receiving the Malaysia Book of Records certificate.”
The post has since garnered over 6,000 likes and hundreds of comments from netizens.
Not only that, the wedding also managed to get into the Malaysia Book of Records - as the bride wore the longest ribbon attached to her gown measuring 407.7 meters. Wow!
Reemathi got in touch with the officials from the Malaysia Book of Records about a year before her wedding and they responded well to her ideas.
A certificate of recognition was handed to Reemathi on her wedding day.
