Acclaimed M’sian Composer Turns His Viral Tracks Into Limited-Edition NFTs

In August 2018, award-winning Malaysian musician and composer, Yuri Wong who created memorable songs and musics for films, TV shows like Boboiboy and Upin & Ipin, went viral for creating a remix of a line from the action comedy flick Tropic Thunder.

According to Mashable, Yuri created an entire track called “I’m A Dude” using the sampling of the famous “I’m a dude playin’ a dude disguised as another dude” line delivered by Robert Downey Jr. and his depth of musical knowledge.

The hit remix, which has already garnered over 10 million views, was turned into a non-fungible token or an NFT and is now selling on the NFt market OpenSea.

The NFT series called Dudecoin has only 22 editions available.

Each of the edition features an animation of a golden “Dudecoin” spinning on the moon, and lasts for 180 seconds with a never-before-released extended edition of “I’m A Dude” playing in the background.

And for avid NFT collectors looking to buy an edition of Dudecoin, each one will also come with a physical limited edition golden record encased in a “premium gold stamped Dudecoin sleeve,” with the full new “I’m A Dude” track on Side A and the instrumental version of the track on Side B.

As each golden record is linked to an NFT, there will also only be 22 ever made and sold.

Woah, so cool!
