A viral video showing a woman hitting a cat with a stick has caused outrage among animal lovers and netizens online, including Animal Malaysia Association (Animal Malaysia).
Its president, Aerie Dwi Andika described the act as “extremely cruel.”

He said there are many ways to keep cats away, including using cat repellent sprays or growing the Coleus canina plant, also known as the scaredy-cat plant. He also urged authorities to take action against the individual.
“Animal Malaysia and Persatuan Haiwan Terbiar Malaysia are appalled by the person’s behavior. We hope the authorities will take action,” he added.
In the video, a voice could also be heard asking the woman to hit the cat until it died. How terrible!
The incident was believed to have happened at a home in Cyberjaya.
This is so cruel! The poor cat must be so scared and confused.
