“Thank God, a gold medal for nasi lemak bunga telang” says Facebook user Siti Safura Mohd Tawil, after she emerged as champion in the Asia-India category of the 2020 Chef Ireland Culinary Competition.
According to Bernama, the competition was held in Dublin, Ireland, and was organised by a panel of Irish chefs.
Siti Safura put forth one of Malaysia’s unique and well-loved dish, the nasi lemak bunga telang - made up of blue coloured rice, rendang ayam, kerabu, and crunchy keropok ikan.

In her Facebook post, she also thanked those who have supported her throughout the competition.
“Thank you Malaysian Ambassador Zakaria Nasir and wife, Junaidah for your endless support. Also thanks Chef Boy, Chef Fauzan, Dr. Esa and Razman for your advice and insights. It is very much appreciated!”.
Malaysians, of course, flooded her Facebook comments with kind words and wishes on her achievement.
