The Malaysian Health Coalition Keeps Malaysians Well-Informed About COVID-19

Malaysians are notoriously known for being “super spreaders” when it comes to fake news. Luckily for us, there are responsible individuals who are here to put a stop to the fake news virus!

Malaysian UK-based surgeon, Dr. Nur Amalina Che Bakri has teamed up with a group of Malaysian medical professionals to keep the public well-informed about the COVID-19 pandemic- and don’t worry, they’re legit!

Dr. Amalina tweeted yesterday that herself, along with her medical colleagues and NGOs both local and international, have joined together to form the Malaysian Health Coalition to help convey the correct medical message to the public, especially regarding COVID-19.

The Malaysian Health Coalition was established by Interdisciplinary Health Systems, Health Policies and Global Health practitioner Dr. Khor Swee Kheng. It currently has 36 members, all of which are reputable doctors, such as Datuk Dr. Amar-Singh HSS and Mercy Malaysia founder Tan Sri Dr. Jemilah Mahmood, all coming together to help Malaysians fight against the deadly virus.

The coalition also consists of other credible members from the medical community from organizations such as the Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia (IMAM), the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) and the Malaysian Nurses Association.

The platform will be updated to accommodate 20 different languages and is accessible via their social media pages using the respective handles — Facebook (@MyHealthCoalition), Twitter (@malaysianhc) and Instagram (@myhealthcoalition).

In just 4 days, thousands have already clicked the follow button for these pages, with its Twitter page gaining more than 10K followers to date!

As for Dr. Amalina, who was recently called out for being too “young” and not having enough medical knowledge by UMNO Youth exco member “Papagomo” or Wan Muhammad Azri, her qualifications and networks that had earned a place in this impressive coalition sure prove otherwise.

Netizens across social media were ecstatic at the establishment of such a wonderful tool that can better help Malaysians to be in the know about the global pandemic.

We thank all the doctors for their endless service to all Malaysians. For more information about the Malaysian Health Coalition, visit the https://myhealthcoalition.org/. Let’s fight this war together!
