This story just proves how much trouble you could cause for being a selfish driver.
Police have arrested a man allegedly involved in a hit-and-run incident on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway yesterday evening (August 31st).
The driver took it upon himself to use the emergency lane during a traffic jam, and because he had switched lanes so suddenly, a couple riding their motorcycle collided with his car, before tumbling to the ground.
A video of the incident, captured on the dash and rear cameras of a passing car, went viral on social media, leaving netizens furious.
Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) director Datuk Azisman Alias said, “The accident occurred when the driver of the car entered the emergency lane from the left lane to overtake a vehicle in front, and hit the motorcycle which was moving along the emergency lane, before speeding off.”
It’s understood that the victims received outpatient treatment at the Bentong Hospital.
News of the man’s arrest will hopefully put netizens’ minds at ease, and we hope that strict action will be taken.
If you’re in a traffic jam, that’s just too bad- join the rest of us, and don’t go using the emergency lane!
