A week of flooding and downpour is what caused the Kinabalu Park parking lot in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah to collapse.
A landslide at about 1am on Wednesday (January 20th) caused a big portion of the parking zone in the area to fall.
As reference, here’s what the area looked like before the incident.

The impact of the natural disaster to the public car park on Jalan Ranau - Tamparuli is clearly seen in this video posted by a netizen.
According to Sabah Deputy Chief Minister and Kundasang assemblyman Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam, roadworks along the affected area will start as soon as possible, as this road acts as the main carriageway connecting Tamparuli and Ranau.
The main road itself is still passable, however, there’s always a risk of the damage getting worse, so drivers are advised to take an alternative route at Jalan Bundu Tuhan - Kinasaraban.
Stay safe, everyone!
