Johor Hospital Is Now Investigating A Medical Officer Who Insulted A Patient Online

Millennials know too well that our social media has become somewhat a platform for us to share, and sometimes overshare about our problems.

But, be careful what you’re sharing online, and don’t get carried over by emotions…

That’s exactly what happened to this one medical officer from the Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) in Johor Bahru after one of his tweets that was reshared by Twitter user, YB Riri Terpaling Birthday went viral.

The hospital is currently investigating the medical officer that allegedly insulted a cancer patient in one of his tweets, which has now been deleted.

The tweet reads: “You’ve had brain cancer for 6 to 7 months already and yet you have to be referred at three or four in the morning? Can’t wait until tomorrow? Why is this creature still breathing?”

According to BERNAMA, the Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) director, Dr. Mokhtar Pungut @ Ahmad stated that they do not condone such behaviour from their staff and that the appropriate action will be taken against the medical officer.

The statement reads: “Regarding the issue of a medical officer insulted a patient on social media, we at HSA is taking his actions very seriously. A special committee has been set up at the hospital with the aim to further investigating the issue.”

“We would like to apologise for the statement issued by the medical officer as it has offended the public,” Dr. Mokhtar continued.

It is believed that the medical officer posted a status on his Twitter using vulgar language following his dissatisfaction over a cancer patient who was referred to the hospital in the early hours.

Remember to always be kind to each other, because everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about!
