Walking isn’t everyone’s favourite activity when you are forced to do it, but here’s some fun walking you can do next weekend.
Lorong Fest: A Walk Down Madras Lane will be bringing together a host of live performances, film screenings, a photo exhibition, arts and crafts workshops, as well as some finger licking good food. Think culture, history and yums all in one.
Running from 29 November to 1 December, the event will be held at Car Park Penjaja Gallery, Lorong Bandar 20, 50000, Kuala Lumpur.

Way back in the 60s and 70s, Madras lane was THE entertainment hub of Kuala Lumpur. This was all because of the iconic Madras Theatre that showed almost anything and everything - western movies, kung fu shows, classics, anything.

Now, the same area is filled with hearty hawker food and busy wet markets. Truly the essence of Malaysia! The event will see local acts such as Ryot Jones and The Maha Jeffery Band on stage, along with fun activities like batik painting and Chinese calligraphy workshops for you to participate in.
The idea behind Lorong Fest is to introduce its rich heritage to new faces, encouraging a sustainable local economy and bringing Kuala Lumpur’s beautiful street back to life.
Will you be swinging by?
