COVID-19: The Number Of New Cases Decreased By 14.2% To 3,231 Last Week

The number of new COVID-19 cases decreased by 14.2% from 3,767 cases to 3,231 cases over the past week, said Director General of Health, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah.

For the week ending January 7th, the average number of active cases decreased by 10.8% from 12,647 cases in the previous week to 11,278 cases throughout the past week.

DG Hisham also noted in a statement that "the number of recovered cases decreased by 35.6% from 5,869 cases to 3,781 cases,” adding that the number of fatalities fell by 4.5% to 21 cases from 22 the week before, bringing the total number of deaths reported to date to 36,874.

So far, 5,026,677 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the country since January 2020…
