Other Ways To Celebrate Christmas

We all know it’s Christmas tomorrow, but what to do if you aren’t celebrating it?

There will definitely be some spending the day with friends and family, but that’s no excuse for you to feel left out! Here are some things you can do as well so as not to feel left out from the festivities!

1. Check out the Christmas decor in malls

Most malls and public places will have decorations put up for the festivities already. Indulge in some Christmas cheer by mall-hopping your way through a bunch of malls to check out the pretty trees and decor while singing along to jolly songs (and checking out year end sales)!

2. Christmas movie marathon

The best kind of marathon is a movie marathon! If you would rather stay indoors, there’s nothing better than binge-watching some classic Christmas movies to amp up that Christmas cheer. Take your pick from shows like Home Alone, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and The Polar Express - they are all heartwarming, fun and full of Christmas cheer. Throw in some hot chocolate and Christmas cookies, and you will be all set for the festivities!

3. Give yourself a gift

It’s the season of giving. But who said you only have to give presents to others? Take the chance to celebrate your own accomplishments this year with a present from you to you! Sure, there may be some of us who splurged a little too much or bought unnecessary things, but the gifts you buy for yourself doesn’t have to cost a bomb. Be it a nice book you have been eyeing or a comfortable pillow to soothe that neck ache (new year is coming, old age is too), we gotta treat ourselves!

4. Celebrate Christmas at a children’s shelter

The best kind of celebration is one filled with joy, laughter and many happy faces. What better way to get that than by swinging by a children’s home to spread some love? Be it buying gifts for the kids or dropping by to spread Christmas cheer with songs and stories, the thought is what counts! One thing to keep in mind though - do try to make it a continuous effort and keep harvesting that bond you have built with the children!

5. Throw your own Christmas party

Who’s to say Christmas is only for Christians? It’s the holiday season and you can very well throw your own party too! It doesn’t even have to be a Christmas party - take the chance to meet up with family, friends or colleagues and make it a fun excuse to makan-makan. Bonus: a little gift exchange would also add on to the fun!

So how will you be spending your Christmas?
