Boboiboy: The Movie 2, produced by Monsta Studios (formerly known as Animonsta Studios) has all the elements of an award winning animation film.
The Malaysian animated hit opened in cinemas on 8th August 2019 and still ranks as the third highest-grossing animated film in Malaysia ever recorded for both local and international films.
Since then, it has not only won over the hearts of Malaysians, but has grabbed the attention of prestigious film awards worldwide, too!
In the past week, Monsta Studio released back-to-back announcements on social media platforms, that BBM2 had been nominated for not just one, but TWO international film awards.
The movie has been shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Best Animation 3D Film’ category at the New York Animation Film Awards (Nyafa).
The movie has also been selected as a finalist for ‘Best Animated Film’ at the Florence Film Awards, a monthly film festival based in Italy.
BBM2 is no stranger to receiving international awards. According to Monsta News, they’ve previously won the ‘Best Poster’ and ‘Best Teaser Trailer’ awards at the Laurus Film Festival in Russia, too!
Netizens were quick to congratulate the studio for its successes locally and internationally with well wishes that the movie will bag both awards.
