Now that we’re all stuck at home since the Movement Control Order was implemented, a lot of us spend most of our time scrolling through our phones, and watching a ton of videos on YouTube.

KL-based Aryanna Alyssa Dezek, who is also a local YouTube singing sensation, broke into the Top 10 Most Subscribed YouTubers in Malaysia chart since the MCO was implemented.
The 12-year-old singer covers Malaysian, as well as Indonesian songs on her YouTube channel with her trusted ukulele or guitar in hand.
According to the Malay Mail, Alyssa was inspired by Malaysian singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, and hopes that her YouTube career can catapult her to the same height as the iconic songstress.
“I hope to be like her because she’s the number one singer in the country and she remains so humble,” she said. She also added that the MCO had played a part, as her channel grew day by day, and passed over local rapper Namewee to become the ninth most subscribed channel in the country, one spot ahead of shirtless-durian-seller slash fitness trainer Jordan Yeoh.
Alyssa also released a new song, ‘Lagu Untuk Kamu’ in November last year, garnering over 30 million views.
Her cover of Indonesian singer Upiak Isil’s Tak Tun Tuang is her most viewed video on her channel, garnering over 34 million views. “I was thrilled to get into the Top 10. Since the MCO started, my followers have been growing very fast. One of my songs even started going viral,” said Alyssa.
She has also explored her talent in acting landing roles in local telefilms such as Kasut Bola Pink, Anak Anak Ibu, and Jangan Sembelih Merah, as well as appearing on entertainment shows including Astro Ceria’s Ceria All Stars.
Her future dream is to get the Diamond Play button from YouTube, when a YouTuber hits 10 million subscribers. “No one in Malaysia has gotten one yet. So, I hope I’ll be able to achieve that.”
Congratulations on surpassing over 2 million subscribers, and getting the Gold Play button from YouTube, Alyssa! We hope to see more of you in the future!
