Elephants are all-around curious and creative animals, and they are even smarter than we think!
Recently, a video went viral on Facebook of a wild elephant “checking out” a car at Jalan Jeli, heading to Kelantan.
In the video, the elephant can be seen curiously “inspecting” a car that had stopped in front of it, initially giving way for the elephant to cross. But… apparently, the elephant got a little curious and wanted to check out the car first!

The user who shared the video also said that the elephant seemed like it wanted to climb over the car at first, but it didn’t. Phew, that's close!
After it had enough with the first car, the elephant then started checking out the second car, before it (probably) got bored and went back into the forest.
The video that was shared by a Facebook user, Fazliwati Abbas has since garnered over 776 thousand views and 4,900 shares at the time of writing.
“God took care of our family. The car in front of us was almost crushed as the elephant almost climb over it,” read the caption.

We’re glad nothing serious happened to the elephant and road users, except for a few bumps and dents on their car that can easily be fixed.
When it comes to encountering animals on the road, it’s possible to come across both small and large animals… So, remember to keep an eye on both sides of the road in case a wild animal decides to cross.
If you accidentally drive into a herd of elephants, don’t panic and remain calm and quiet! Keeping still helps reassure the elephant that you aren’t going to cause trouble and it gives the elephant some space to move off the road before you could drive past them.
Stay safe on the road, guys!
