Recently, a video of a teh tarik went viral on TikTok, because it was being pulled… literally!

The video, that was shared on TikTok by user @noorulkutha shows a lovely glass of teh tarik just sitting on the floor before it was pulled by a metal hook that was tied to the glass’ handle with a string.

In case you didn’t know, or you do not speak Bahasa, teh tarik literally translates to “pulled tea.”

The drink got its name as it was made by cooling a brew of hot milk tea through the process of pouring and “pulling” it between two cups or mugs, to create the rich, frothy drink. And that is how the drink got its name “pulled tea” in Malay, a reference to how it is made.

However, the user took its name… literally, by pulling the glass of tea like a pet going for a walk, and for some reason, we’re all so amused by this!

A man can also be heard in the background saying: “Look, it’s teh tarik” in Tamil.

The video has since garnered over 1.4 million views at the time of writing, with many taking to the comment section to share their amusement, “The real teh tarik!” said one person.
