Tired of the never-ending process of reporting and waiting for fixes, one Sabahan guy came up with a clever idea. Mahathir Aripin shared on Facebook that he "planted" a banana tree to cover a pothole temporarily, putting fresh soil around it.

Dealing with a pothole problem, he decided to turn it into something green by adding a banana tree.

Feeling sorry for other drivers, he jokingly said, "I'll use black tar next time if bananas grow on the tree," in his post.

The post got a lot of attention on January 29th, and it got the Ministry of Works in the state moving.

On January 30, they posted on Facebook, saying they needed that "wake-up call." They confirmed they fixed the pothole on the same day while doing maintenance work in the area.

They also mentioned that rain might affect the fixing work, but they promised to do their best to keep the roads in good shape for everyone.
