Public transport drivers sometimes get a bad reputation due to the unfriendly or unhelpful behaviour of a few. However, a recent story of a RapidKL bus driver’s kindness has restored Malaysians' faith in public transport workers, thanks to his thoughtful approach to customer service.
The story came to light when X user @farhanajafri shared a post showcasing the driver’s details displayed on the bus’s side window, highlighting his outstanding efforts to care for passengers. In her post, she tagged RapidKL’s X account, expressing her gratitude for his exceptional service.
She wrote, “This is the first time I’ve encountered a bus driver who apologised for being late—even though it was raining and entirely beyond his control.”
She went on to describe how he honked upon nearing the bus stop to alert waiting passengers and kindly asked if they wanted to board, instead of scolding them for not signalling.
The post has since gained over 900,000 views and 23,000 likes, with netizens praising the driver’s politeness and exceptional customer service. Many shared similar positive experiences, with one user commenting, “He deserves recognition! It’s rare to find a driver like this; most are always so irritable.” Another added, “RapidKL should consider giving awards to drivers like him.”
