Pahang Police Bids Farewell To Police Dog, Bad Who Passes Away Of Old Age

A memorial site was recently set up for the Pahang police’s canine unit to commemorate dogs that died while serving the contingent.

The memorial park will be built at Alor Akar in Kuantan where two police dogs had already been buried.

Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Senior Assistant Commissioner Mohd Yusri Othman promised that his division would put in efforts to make the area more attractive.

The officer who is in charge of the technical assistance division (D6), Assistant Superintendent Chia Che Chau said that Mohd Yusri’s announcements came after the passing of Bad, the labrador due to old age.

“Bad joined the contingent on August 4th, 2011 when he was only three years old,” he said, adding that the canine was bought from Germany and sent to Bukit Aman for training on November 8th, 2008.

Recently, Bad had been showing signs of deteriorating a week prior to his passing, “He had been refusing food except when fed by his handler Corporal Willen,” he told the Malay Mail.

The officers brought the sick canine to seek medical attention but the veterinarian said there was nothing much that can be done due to his advanced age.

The good boy had successfully busted two drug syndicates in 2012 and 2014 and is now laid to rest next to another unit dog, Tho who died on September 19th, 2020.

This is so sad! But we’re SO happy he’s getting the memorial he deserves!
