National Geographic Names A Location In Singapore As “Malaysia,” Netizens Amused!

“Historically, they aren’t wrong,” said one person.

In their most recent posting, National Geographic UK completely mistook Malaysia as the location of Singapore’s Gardens By The Bay. In case you’re unfamiliar with Gardens By The Bay, its official website describes it as “one of Asia’s best horticultural destinations.”

In their Facebook post, National Geographic UK wrote, “From the Archive: A family from India walks through the Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, Malaysia.”

Oh no!

Malaysians and Singaporeans, of course, came together to roast NatGeo over the little slip.

Malaysian brands and organizations have also joined in to poke fun at the post, like local cinema chain Golden Screen cinemas shared a photo of one of their theaters and captioned it: “Also from the Archive: An IMAX theater built with vibranium in Wakanda, Johor Bahru.”

One person shared a photo of Menara TM and wrote: “Avengers Tower in New York City, Malaysia.”

This is hilarious. What do you guys think?
