A simple cell phone is still quite durable, but smartphones, however, have so much stuff packed into them that they are more prone to damage.

Well… apparently, that’s not always the case.
Recently, a video went viral of a man who dropped his smartphone into a pot of hot, simmering cooking oil. He panicked for a moment, but luckily he managed to retrieve his phone and it was still working perfectly!
In the video, shared by user @zaiem_ainn on TikTok shows a man filming the food being cooked at a restaurant.
But then he accidentally dropped his phone into the hot oil and it was in there for about 10 seconds before the man tried fishing it out. To his surprise, the phone was still working and it was still on video recording mode.
The video has since garnered a lot of attention with over 776,700 views at the time of writing.
Netizens were amused: “Now we know how it feels to be deep fried,” one person said jokingly.
“That’s an awesome phone. It’s not only waterproof, it could be fireproof as well.” another person said.
Though the man’s phone is okay, it doesn't mean that it’s safe to dip your phone into hot oil, okay? So, please don’t try this, guys!
