The screenshot of the man's rant was reposted on X by user @hanisyezu, who rebuked the man's perspective as selfish and ignorant. The man criticised parents for attempting to squeeze twin strollers into an already full lift, accusing them of insisting on others vacating the space.

He also questioned the necessity of twin strollers, expressing disbelief at the alleged inability of parents to carry their babies without them.

The post gained significant traction, amassing over 3,100 reposts and more than 2,600 likes. However, the majority of responses condemned the man's viewpoint, highlighting his apparent misunderstanding of lift priorities.

The user, @hanisyezu emphasised that the priority for lifts should be given to differently-abled individuals, pregnant women, and parents with strollers and babies. The post garnered support from Malaysians, who criticised the man for his lack of awareness and empathy. Some users even shared photos from inside the mall's lift, illustrating that parents were indeed given priority.

One commenter pointed out the impracticality of using escalators for parents with strollers due to safety concerns. Escalators often have metal rods that could pose a hazard for strollers, reinforcing the importance of prioritising lifts for these individuals.

In a sarcastic remark, another commenter questioned why a physically fit individual, like the man in the rant, would choose to take the lift instead of using the escalator.

This incident has sparked a broader conversation about the importance of prioritising vulnerable groups, including the differently-abled, pregnant women, and parents with young children, when using public facilities.

The general consensus among netizens is that empathy and understanding should prevail, urging individuals to consider the needs of others before expressing frustration in similar situations.
