Driving alone, especially as a woman, can sometimes pose unexpected dangers, making vigilance a crucial part of staying safe.
One Malaysian woman, Allyna Wong, recently shared a chilling encounter on her Instagram that serves as an important reminder about personal safety when in your car.

Allyna recounted how her friend, who lives in TTDI, agreed to meet her in Cheras for dinner and kindly offered to drive her home afterwards. When they arrived at Allyna’s house, the two decided to continue their conversation in the car, which was parked outside her home.
As they chatted, Allyna noticed two men on motorcycles parked near her neighbour’s house. Although it made her feel uneasy, she brushed it off. “I kept chatting with my friend, but then I noticed another motorcycle pass by. It was dark, so I couldn’t tell if it was the same one as before. All I remember was seeing a lot of motorcycles riding past us,” she explained.
At one point, Allyna needed to grab something for her friend from inside her house. Before leaving, she advised her friend to lock the car doors while she waited alone. Moments later, when Allyna returned to the porch, she noticed one of the men walking towards her friend’s car.
“He was looking inside through the passenger-side window, then walked around to the driver’s side,” Allyna recalled. Standing frozen on her porch, she was paralysed with fear, worrying whether her friend had remembered to lock the doors—a habit she often neglected.
To Allyna’s relief, her friend had locked the doors, preventing the man from entering. “He actually tried to open the car door at one point, but when my friend spotted him, she started honking, and that made him run off,” Allyna shared.
Allyna’s experience is a stark reminder of the importance of staying alert!
Lock your doors immediately: As soon as you enter your car, lock the doors before doing anything else.
