Dr Zul Ariffin Maarof, the entrepreneur in question, shared his appreciation on his Threads profile. He wrote, "When you have staff who value honesty, even when you make a mistake with their salary, they’ll contact you to let you know. Alhamdulillah."
Dr Zul acknowledged the substantial nature of the error, stating, "The difference in the amount I mistakenly paid is considerable. I pray that all my team members will be able to improve their skills, salary, and commissions in 2025."
Along with his post, Dr Zul shared a screenshot of the conversation with the employee, who had received RM9,142.95 instead of the intended RM1,942.95—an overpayment of RM7,200. Upon confirming the mistake, the employee requested the owner's account details to return the excess amount.
In the comments section, Dr Zul clarified that he had rewarded the employee with a monetary gift as a token of appreciation for their honesty and integrity.
