The video, shared by @khaixzaa, shows one officer jumping into the sea to try to save the puppy using an inflatable swim ring while other officers hang a bucket to assist in catching the puppy.
When the puppy keeps evading the officer's attempts to reach him, another officer jumps in to help, and both officers are eventually able to catch up to the puppy.
After placing the puppy inside the bucket, the frightened animal manages to swim out before being caught again by the officers. The bucket is then pulled up by other officers on deck.
The video, posted on April 24, has received over half a million views and close to 3,000 comments, with many praising the officers' selfless act.
It is heartening to see such acts of kindness towards animals, particularly from individuals in positions of authority. This incident serves as a reminder that every life, no matter how small or insignificant, is precious and deserves to be treated with compassion and respect.
We should all strive to do our part in showing kindness and empathy towards animals, who share this planet with us and rely on us for their well-being.
