Kelantan Man Travelled To Penang to Try Authentic Nasi Kandar, Spending RM78 On A Plate!

Eating good food is awesome, and breaking records makes it even more exciting!

So, if you think spending RM69 on a plate of Nasi Kandar was a bit much, wait until you hear about a man from Kelantan who just set a new record.

In a popular Penang spot called Nasi Kandar Sulaiman, this Kelantanese man now holds the title for paying the most ever for Nasi Kandar – a whopping RM78! And guess what? His plate was loaded with good food.

Here's the breakdown: 7 squids (RM49), 2 prawns (RM14), chicken (RM5.50), squid egg (RM7), Lady’s finger (RM1), rice (RM1.50).

The man travelled all the way from Kelantan to Penang just to get the real deal Nasi Kandar experience. Little did he know, he was about to break the record set just two weeks ago at RM69. 

And guess what? As of January 14th, he's still the record holder at RM78.

Nasi Kandar Sulaiman spilled the beans that the RM69 record was held by a person from Johor, and the third-highest record, at RM61, was a Penang local.

So, imagine this as a chance to show off how much you're willing to fork out for a scrumptious, piping hot plate of authentic Nasi Kandar in Penang.
