The farm was established with the primary objective of feeding underprivileged people and teaching locals how to grow their own produce to prepare for potential food insecurity. The garden has since become a source of inspiration and hope for the community, and it has been recognised as one of the six most extraordinary gardens in the world.

In 2022, Kebun-Kebun Bangsar received an eviction notice, which caused concern for the farm's future.

However, the notice was later rescinded, and the farm was allowed to continue its operations. This was a great relief for the community, especially for the underprivileged, as the vegetables farmed at Kebun-Kebun Bangsar have been a vital source of food for them.

The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 brought unprecedented challenges for the world, and Malaysia was no exception. The pandemic resulted in shortages in supermarkets, making it challenging for underprivileged communities to access food…

The garden at Kebun-Kebun Bangsar proved to be a plentiful source of supply during this challenging time.

As the pandemic persisted, the garden continued to be a haven for families and volunteers, providing them with a safe space to engage in outdoor activities.

In addition to providing food to local residents, the garden also plays a key role in waste management. Food scraps from the entire neighbourhood are turned into compost, promoting sustainable living practices and reducing waste.

Notably, Kebun-Kebun Bangsar is not only a source of food for the underprivileged community but also a safe haven for all kinds of animals.

The garden's ecosystem provides a sanctuary for local flora and fauna, contributing to the preservation of biodiversity.

The recognition from the BBC as one of the six most extraordinary gardens in the world is a testament to the garden's significant impact on the community. Through their efforts, Kebun-Kebun Bangsar has shown the importance of nature in our community and how it can play a crucial role in promoting sustainable living and providing for the underprivileged.
