Eric Chiam, CEO of a medical company recently took to his LinkedIn page how his family decided to put a vending machine in front of their house so that the delivery riders could have cold drinks when they deliver their parcels.
He explained that his family considered putting a fridge out, however due to the unpredictable weather, they decided that a vending machine would be more practical.
The family got to work stocking the vending machine with drinks as soon as it arrived. According to Eric, people like delivery riders, garbage collectors and taxi drivers have been enjoying the free cold drinks.
In just a month, 637 drinks have been dispensed from the machine, “Green tea and 100 Plus were the popular drinks. Hojicha, not so much,” he said jokingly.
He also added that he enjoys spending time with his kids while they stock up the vending machine, “I hope more people can do this, too. It doesn’t have to be big, even little things can mean a lot”
