Disabled Man Forced To Navigate On Busy Road As Motorcycles Parked On Wheelchair-Friendly Sidewalk

Rather than using a designated path walkway for people with disabilities (OKU), a man in a wheelchair was forced to navigate shop lots on the street.

In a video that recently went viral, a man in a wheelchair can be seen moving along a busy road at an undisclosed location. Throughout the entire clip, a car can also be seen following closely behind him before the video ends abruptly.

The 10-seconds video that was published to the Malaysian subreddit community, r/Malaysia, by user u/AboutHelpTools3 angered Malaysians after the man is seen struggling navigating his wheelchair through the busy road.

Online users pointed out that the area's sidewalk has a wheelchair-accessible lane, but they suspected that it would be obstructed. They then added a Google Maps link with the exact coordinates of the location where the video was taken to their comment.

There are motorcycles parked all over the sidewalk, which is intended to be utilized by wheelchair users and walkers, as can be seen when scrolling through the sidewalk.

Although this does not necessarily imply that the motorcycles were present when the film was shot, it is usual in Malaysia for motorcycles to be parked on the sidewalk in front of retail spaces.

Comments on the post kept coming in, with the majority of them highlighting numerous municipal faults that can be seen in the video.

Many of the responses expressed sympathy for the wheelchair user who was having trouble navigating the area.

Aiyo, this broke our hearts! We hope the relevant authorities will look into this matter seriously!
