Guys, in Malaysia, you can be fired AND jailed for forging an MC!
A clinic in Ampang, Selangor, recently shared an incident of an individual who forged a medical certificate (MC) using the clinic’s name and gave herself a 5 days sick leave.

The clinic became aware of the issue after being contacted by a company to verify the validity of the MC that they received from one of their employees. However, the clinic could not find the patient’s details as it was not in their records.
The “patient” allegedly got a 5 days sick leave from 27 January to 31 January due to influenza, but the employer felt like something was off from the dates stated and decided to verify it with the clinic.
‘Based on the serial number of the MC, the clinic was able to contact the original owner of the MC to inform her that her details will be given to the police for further investigation.
It is understood that legal action will be taken against the original owner of the MC and the woman who forged it.
