“We Struggle Too” BTS's RM Speaks Candidly About Military Enlistment Struggles

RM, the leader of BTS, recently talked openly about the long struggles the group faced due to military enlistment issues.

In a candid chat during an interview about his new album "Right Place, Wrong Person," RM shared his honest thoughts on the rumours circulating before all BTS members joined the army.

In a video called "Exchange Album MMM (Mini & Moni Music)—RM," RM came back with new music. Before releasing the album, he let fellow BTS member Jimin listen to it and discussed the stories behind the songs.

RM revealed he started working on the album in early February. It was a way for him to express the emotional ups and downs he and the other members were feeling during a break in BTS activities.

In the interview, RM talked about the group's struggles with the military enlistment issue. He mentioned hearing people debating whether BTS should get exemptions from serving.

"We've been through a lot because of the military enlistment issue. I've heard people in bars discussing whether it's right for us to do what we do," RM shared.

RM also talked to Jimin about his mixed feelings seeing younger BTS members getting ready to enlist. Seeing someone like J-Hope, who's the same age as him, prepare for military service made RM reflect deeply.

"Seeing J-Hope, who's my age, going to the military made me think a lot. Shouldn't I be doing the same?" RM confided.

Unfortunately, the album's creation coincided with personal and public challenges. RM felt the need to be honest and transparent, using his music to express himself during this tough time.

"During that time, I faced personal and incident-related challenges. I struggled with what to do... I wanted to be honest and leave something behind," RM explained.

Despite the difficulties, RM felt relieved as the album was almost finished, knowing he'd soon have to fulfil his military duties. When Jimin asked about BTS facing pressure again in 2025, RM admitted feeling uneasy but believed releasing his album would make him stronger and better prepared for the future.

We hope that he and the other BTS members are adjusting well to military enlistment, and we can't wait to see them back together again in 2025! Also, congratulations to RM on the release of your second solo album!
